The brain acts as the central computer for the body, coordinating and regulating various functions.

It receives and interprets sensory information (sight, sound, touch, taste, smell).

The brain initiates and coordinates movements, allowing us to walk, talk, and perform other actions.
Emotional Regulation:
The brain plays a crucial role in experiencing and expressing emotions.
Automatic Functions:
It also controls involuntary functions like breathing, heart rate, and digestion.
How the Brain Works:
Neurons:
The brain is made up of billions of nerve cells called neurons, which communicate with each other through electrical and chemical signals.
Synapses:
The connections between neurons are called synapses, where signals are transmitted.
Neurotransmitters:
Chemical messengers that transmit signals across synapses.
Hemispheres:
The brain is divided into two hemispheres, the left and right, each controlling different functions.
Left hemisphere:
is responsible for speech and abstract thinking in most people.
Right hemisphere:
is usually responsible for spatial thinking or visualization.
The brain is a complex organ that controls thought, memory, emotion, touch, motor skills, vision, breathing, temperature, hunger and every process that regulates our body. Together, the brain and spinal cord that extends from it make up the central nervous system, or CNS.
